Best Business & Productivity AI Agents (2,378)

7 subcategories · 2,378 agents · Updated September 29, 2026

Business & Productivity collects AI agents that carry out office work on their own instead of answering one prompt at a time. Workflow Automation covers platforms and agents that chain apps, APIs and approval steps into processes that run on a trigger or a schedule. Digital Workers take on a whole role, such as a sales researcher, recruiter or support agent, and work through a queue of tasks in the background. Document Processing agents read contracts, invoices and forms, extract the fields and pass them to other systems. Email Management agents triage an inbox, draft replies and follow up. General-purpose and personal assistants handle mixed requests across your calendar, files and messages, and project management agents plan tasks and report progress.

When comparing agents, look at three things. First, reach: which apps the agent connects to, and whether it uses official APIs or operates a browser on your behalf. Second, control: how much it does unattended, and where a person approves a step before anything is sent, signed or paid. Third, pricing: per seat, per task or per run, since costs grow differently once an agent works every day. Also check whether actions are logged so you can audit them later. Many entries are open-source frameworks you host yourself; others are hosted services with a free tier.

Frequently asked questions

A classic automation tool runs fixed steps that you define: when a form is submitted, add a row and send an email. An AI agent decides some of the steps itself. It reads an email or document, works out what is being asked and chooses which tool to use next. Most platforms in Workflow Automation now combine the two: fixed triggers and actions, with an AI step where judgement is needed.

Assistants are usually priced per seat, while automation platforms and Digital Workers tend to charge per task, run or credit, so estimate your monthly volume before comparing plans. Watch for limits on connected apps, runs or pages processed on lower tiers. Open-source frameworks are free to use, but you pay for hosting and for the model calls the agent makes, which grow with task complexity.

Check four things before granting access: which permissions the agent requests, such as read-only or send and delete; whether it can act without approval; where your data is processed and stored; and whether its actions are logged for audits. Start with a test account or a limited folder, and prefer agents that support single sign-on and central revocation. For Email Management and Document Processing agents, look for a security page that states this.

Each agent gets one score. Most of it comes from monthly visits to the agent's own website or, because many agents here are open-source projects, GitHub stars. Smaller parts come from how many Business & Productivity subcategories the agent covers and how often Creati.ai users save it. Each agent is listed only once, and only agents whose main focus is this group qualify. For a pure traffic ranking, use the monthly ranking linked on this page.
